3 Tips to Improve Self Esteem

self esteem

Low Self Esteem can cause us to repeat bad habits, take what others say personally and make it more difficult to recover from negative events.  I am here to share with you 3 Tips to Improve Self Esteem so that you can easily ignore negative opinions of others, have more trust in our own instincts and live every day to the fullest.

  1. Raise Your Awareness:  Recognize what lowers your self confidence. This can be thoughts, behaviors, feelings, situations or even people. Its important to know what causes your self esteem to plummet so that you know where to start making changes. Take an inventory for 1 week by writing down anything that makes you feel less confident.
  2. Be A Good Friend to Yourself:  Looking at our self esteem inventory can be overwhelming! So be nice to yourself – Remember that the way we talk to ourselves is often much more critical or mean than we would talk to our friends. Use positive self talk to change the way you talk to yourself.
  3. Change Your Story or Narrative: This comes with practice.  Negative thoughts and beliefs tend to be easier to believe and act upon than positive so we tend to hang on to those narratives that ‘there isn’t enough’ or that ‘we aren’t good enough’. You have the power to change your narrative at any time! Whether or not you choose to believe it, is the difficult part. Imagine that your new story is the person you WANT to become and use that as your new narrative. ‘I’m a successful, confident person who has infinite potential to accomplish anything I want to if I set my mind to it. I am good enough for everything I deserve and there is abundance in the universe available to me at all times.’

Have a great week!
